I'm trying to understand where keeping the existing EDACS system fits into this plan. Maybe that's what the FD is now using? Interesting reading in any event.
The EDACS system will be turned off when the new system is up. This RFP will start with 6 sites and then phase in 6-7 more sites over the next 4 years.
At least there's a lengthy timeframe for all of this so Uniden and friends will have time to build and sell us those shiny new P25 Phase II TDMA scanners...
