St Mary's county snow plows - still on VHF low band?

Can anyone CONFIRM the Department Of Transportation still uses 47.02 MHz for its St Mary's county snowplow removal crews? I’m sure this question comes up every year after the first snow so I apologize in advance if its an old question.

An interesting question. Keep in mind that SHA/DoT on 47 mhz are almost entirely a simplex matter, so hearing them would be a shot in the dark if your antenna isn't so good.

I'd stick to the St Mary's EDACS system, where they have public works and highways on that system. It should be a no-brainer to hear them. According to the database, that would be tgs04-021 thru 025.

My bet is that both the county and state (SHA/DoT) share some responsibilities in salt/sanding and snowplow operations depending on whether the road is like I95 or a county road, ect.

As far as I know they abondoed those new TRS groups like the syscom ones. I'll check it out with my Chieff(HE's is a hed guy at the fire bord/Com thing). 8)

This is very hard to understand; What syscom ones?? Abondeoed? You mean they abandoned the 4 or 5 talkgroups they had? If so, where'd they go?

there where 3 syscom channles planned for the FD to use. I havent heard any thing on these channles ever. Not even testing.

The SHA still DOES use the 47.02 mhz for its operations in St. Mary's County. They are NOT part of the trunked system. Unlike the State Police they do not have 800 mhz radios and utilize their low band system. As far as which roads, etc the SHA is responsible for all State roads, such as Route 5, 235, 237 etc. The county raods dept is responsible for all county secondary roads. However, there are numerous contractors who come out and assist both the state and county crews with treating the roads. It should be noted that the county roads dept still uses their old hi band freq and does not use their talkgroup on the county trunked system. (at least they weren't a few weeks ago when I had my radio fixed.)

My very old references say that would be 156.18 (repeater system, input is 159.075). I don't have a PL associated with that.

And before someone says something, yes, that's very very close to marine channel 63a (156.175) which is allocated for Port Operations and Commercial ops.

To attempt to clarify, I believe Waldo325mvfd is referring to three EMRC (aka SysCom) talkgroups that would be analogous to the 3 conventional 460 MHz "Med" channels assigned to each county for EMS hospital consultations.

I can confirm that St Mary's county road crews use 156.18 MHz to coordinate their work. Their repeater works quite well and can be heard over most of the county.
