The Antennacraft ST-2 is not a directional antenna. It is omnidirectional, meaning it receives about equally in all directions. No need to "point" it. Mount it vertically as shown in the manual or in any of the dozens of pics of it on the Internet.
The ST-2 is not directional, but if you mount it on the side of a tower you might get a bit of shadowing [signal reduction] on the side of the tower opposite the antenna. Most of the time it won't be of consequence, but it did make a difference for me with fringe signals on the opposite side -- I just moved the ST-2 to a different leg of the tower. On a mast it isn't nearly as noticeable due to less metal between you and the opposite side.
