I am not trying to avoid a Matching Pad.
I must have looked at over 20 different Mfg. for these pads
and Mini Circuits has them for a very "Hobby" friendly price.

My post above was to see if a 75ohm load would work, The VNA does not know what ohm the load is.
I have nothing to loose, I am going to try it for the sake of the Hobby and see what the reading look like.

I can always re-calibrate, which seems to be what I have been doing a lot of.

You should also understand there will be losses with the pad. This must be taken into consideration when looking at the results. Others have posted about that and you must keep it in mind when analyzing.
What are then the calibration supposed to do? It will calibrate so all readings will be correct and you do not need to take anything into account when doing the analyzing.

Just solder a couple of resistors together, it will cost you a dollar and you don't need to put it in any metal box, just solder the resistor in air and directly to the connectors. After you have done some measurements and feel that you would like to continue to use the pad, then install it in a small metal box, old cat food can, whatever you have laying around, to make it more sturdy and easier to use.
