Stafford Co. is now using the PulsePoint app for Android and IPhone. Fed from the dispatch center, the app alerts citizens in real time of cardiac events in order to expedite administration of CPR.

Users may choose to be notified of other call types too, so it's a useful supplement to radio monitoring. The interface displays time of dispatch, type of call, location, units assigned and their status. The Web application is here

PulsePoint WebApp

Select the participating agencies from the drop down menu at the top of the page.

Fredericksburg released an RFP last month for something similar, perhaps.

I have used this for years, a great app for following your fire department without listening to dispatch constantly.

As for its original purpose, notifying citizens of CPR calls, it is useless as it does not provide the address.

Pulsepoint does display address info for some calls in Prince William Co. If you take a look at the satellite map; there is always a marker on the exact address for every call.
