I am going to be visiting the Stamford area again soon and I was wondering if the Stamford Fire is still encrypting their transmissions. Last year when i was there I could not hear anything by the fire department. Thanks !

All the PD, FD & EMS talkgroups are encrypted. You can hear the Fire/EMS dispatch talkgroup on the VHF simulcast.

Wasn't there talk a couple years back that they wanted to put some of the channels in the clear?? Are they still considering that idea or is it pretty much off the table for now?

I remember they were talking about having the FD and EMS in the clear but I don't know anything more.
