Arapahoe Rescue Patrol Mourns Loss of Pioneer


CENTENNIAL, CO May 2, 2007 - Throughout Colorado, the emergency service community is mourning the loss of Stanley G. Bush, Founder and President of the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol. Mr. Bush passed away in hospice care in Centennial, CO on the morning of April 30, 2007, he was 78 years old.


Memorial plans will include a formal emergency service funeral procession, forming at
12:20 pm on May 7, 2007. The procession will originate at the Drinkwine Mortuary (999 West Littleton Blvd, Littleton, CO) with a public service to be held at St. Andrew Methodist Church (3350 White Bay Dr, Highlands Ranch, CO) at 2:00 pm.


The procession route has yet to be determined, however it will include the City of Littleton, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties. Former Arapahoe Rescue Patrol members affiliated with an emergency service agency are asked to wear their respective agency uniform.


The Arapahoe Rescue Patrol was founded in 1957; and continues to provide the greater Metro area and the State of Colorado with free Search and Rescue services. From inception, the operations level of the team consists of high-school students from across the metro area. These members donated over 31,000 hours in 2006 to their community.


The Arapahoe Rescue Patrol would like to invite members of the community and members of emergency service agencies throughout the State of Colorado to help celebrate the life of Stan Bush; a husband, step-father, mentor, pioneer and a friend.

One of the good guys.

I was a member of Arapahoe Rescue for three years. Stan and the Patrol were a definate positive influence in my life and, I'm sure, hundreds if not thousands of other young lives as well. I'll miss Stan's velvet-ey smooth voice and deadpan calmness mixed with just the slightest sprinkle of humor to lighten the mood in sometimes horrid situations. He definately left the world a better place than he found it.

Thanks Stan, for all you did for me and your community. I hope ARP continues to give you a long and shining legacy for others to look up to...

I didn't have the privilege of knowing Mr. Bush, but my condolences to those who did.

L/G 1, 2, 72 and 73 all preparing for a flyover at the services in Highlands Ranch currently on FERN.

L/G 1 and 73 both made appaearance. L/g 1 came in hovered next to the church for about 15 seconds as the perscession was pulling in then took off, L/g 73 did the same about 3 minutes later. It was a very nice ceremony with a strong showing to celebrate the life of Stanley Giltner Bush.
