When Stan county reconfig'd their vhf channel lineup why did they make their new disp freq (153.770) non repeatered? I used to be able to pick them up in livermore and now I can't. however I can pickup their old disp freq that is now Cmd 5(Modesto) perfectly.

That's how it's listed in the database. I thinks it's just for tone outs so it doesn't need to be a repeater.

Since they established Cmd3 (primary command channel) I have only heard one time where fire unites used comtrol 1 to talk on. That was for a TC that was witnessed by a chief officer (I am guessing we forgot to change channels). That was all in non-repeater mode. I thinking the old input frequency was put to use as a tac channel? Control 1 is repeated on UHF, from what I was told for the EMS people to be able to monitor fire dispatches. I am not sure if any fire districts use if for their pagers. That UHF channel might be better heard on your side of the pass. I can hear if as far south as Madera and northern Fresno counties.

re: SCFD

So you're saying 153.770 is primarily used as (dispatches only)? no voice traffic besides dispatch? I guess I don't understand why they'd make a freq that isn't repeated when most of the others are...
