Ahhhhhhhh, there's nothing like hearing an old timer on the radio saying, ....."Fu¢/ing".... and ....."Damned"...... in an irate tone. Heard it the morning of Octobet 25th. Couldn't believe my ears. Now that I recall, I don't think this is the first time I've heard something like this on their frequency.

yup
Interesting observation Hobbyscan. I have been scanning for maybe 40 years - dont think I have ever heard anyone swear on a police or fire channel. Pretty amazing actually. Once in Danvers Mass, I heard the Fire Chief tell everyone to "shut up - I am talking". I think that was when the chemical plant exploded or when a bunch of homes caught on fire from too much gas pressure.

It happens more than you think... I apologize for that, by the way. As it was my feed, I take responsibility for that. To be perfectly frank, I had forgotten that channel was in there. As soon as I heard the second obscenity fly I made a beeline for the lockout button so we wouldn't be subjected to that again.

Redneck0410: No apology neccessary, wasn't your fault. I heard it on my own scanners, not your feed. I just cringed when I heard it. Just don't hear much talk like that around here. Must not be a whole lot of accountability on his end.

Considering this was Stanton County, there ain't a whole lot of accountability nowhere in that county to my understanding.

I have heard this before, and not just Stanton County. I have heard Norfolk PD swear, Nebraska Central Railroad, and another unidentified source. While this is not common, it does happen.

Sometimes radio discipline can be lacking. Or emotions can get out of hand. Higher ups may deal with it in person, instead of over the radio, or not. If it was a regular occurence, that might suggest a wide-spread issue in a department.

The occasion we are discussing here, if I remember right, had to do with a couple county roads employees grading a rural dirt road. Since I have taken that channel out of my feed I don't know if there have been repeated incidents or not. As has been said before, it's nothing new for this area. I try to keep my feed in check, but I am not able to stay as on top of it as I would like to.
