Hi all, I just bought a Uniden 536 HP, I am trying to program it which is quite a nightmare so far, but my question is what exactly is starcom 21, I am hearing traffic a long way from my home and some of it does not sound like Illinois State police at all.

That is the Illinois statewide trunking system. One of the largest in the country. You can hear state police, conservation personnel, highway crews (both state and local), county police/sheriffs, utility companies, college police, EMS. Just about anyone can be on StarCom.

If you check the TG database you may be surprised.
