That one place...
Sorry if this was covered already, but I wasn't able to find any info on it.
So I wanted to pass it on.

The South Beloit tower 851.575 was using NAC 148
System id 140h
They normally use 143.

Thanks for the information, the SC21 database has been updated!

I see that many departments and dispatch centers in Cook County have switched to SC21. Is there any way to know if WestCom (WSCDS - Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park) will one day switch?

Is it safe to say that if they switch then the transmissions will be encrypted and no longer able to be heard by the public?

Thanks

Read through meeting minutes of the ETSB or police/fire commissions, they will usually discuss any ongoing projects (like radio replacement).

Yes. I'd be shocked if they weren't. Like Rich said Park Ridge & Elmwood Park already are, on the county site. If it's on the county site it's secure with virtually no exceptions. If they for some reason go with the regular site there's a very small chance it would be open but I wouldn't hold my breath: it would be like going from a 100% chance to a 99% chance of encryption.

I think it's safe to say that Rosemont has switched over to SC21. For a little a week now, I've been receiving (not hearing since it's full ENC) lots of activity from Police Patrol TG 35120 and Fire Main TG 35130 (no ENC used) on Site 1-002. I've also heard a little activity on the Police Traffic and Detail channels as well.

Per NORCOMM, Rosemont FD has made the move to SC21 TG 35130 with a patch to their legacy VHF channel for local mutual aid companies that don't have access to SC21.

Has the traffic you've heard on the Rosemont PD TGs other than 35120 been clear or encrypted?

Posted this in the general Illinois forum, meant to post it here....

There is a group of SC21 talkgroups in the 10000-10018 range (so far) that see intermittent use and I'm wondering if anyone knows the official designations for them. Illinois State Police appears to be the primary user, but other state agencies like Illinois Secretary of State Police and Illinois National Guard have been noted on them occasionally as well. Possibly some kind of incident/interoperability usage?

Aurora FD patch is just like the Naperville patch. Only when a radio affiliates onto the Talkgroup radio traffic is passed thru. It's not active 24/7

It’s not closed, they probably had a portable powered on in its charger for testing purposes. It all depends if at least ONE radio is currently on that TG. It was active on T101 sites off and on last week too.

When a major incident is dispatched in Naperville you’ll often see Starcom radios from neighboring towns affiliate making the TGs active so they can listen in.

My best guess is the new Aurora FD TG is just like the Naperville TG’s. Mainly designed for FD’s to be able to communicate when running mutual or auto aid.

Hearing some testing this morning on the University of Chicago Campus Police talkgroup (TGID 34046). They relocated their transmitter to the main hospital and increased the power a bit. I can now get the site that I couldn't before from my location. Mix of encryption and non-encrypted radios being used.

Operations have returned to Starcom, hearing patrol activity now. Some radios are encrypted, while others are not, by design or programming error? All within the 183xxx range, the Base is coming up as 183999 and being called "UC". "Ex. 131 to UC".
