Thought I'd try and help a bit here with an updated Troop 3 database entry. Districts 2,5, Chicago listings can be eliminated since those talkgroups haven't been in use in 7 months and most radios are reprogrammed. Or, can be included under Troop 3 like this:

3-A-9005
3-North-9002
3-Middle-9007
3-Southwest-9013
3-South-9008
3 Car-to-Car-9067
3-ISPERN-9051
3 (DC-B)-9006
3 (B-05)-9014
3 (SW Car-to-Car)-9068
3 (DC-Local)-9059
3 (DC Detail-A)-9027
3 (DC Detail-B)-9028
3-(2-Local)-9058
3 (2-B)-9003
3 (2-C)-9004
3 (2 Car-to-Car)-9066
3 (2 Detail-A)-9025
3 (2 Detail-B)-9026
3 (2 Detail-C)-9141
3 (5-Local)-9060
3 (5 Detail-A)-9030
3 (5 Detail-B)-9031
3 (DC Tac-1)-9009
3 (DC Tac-2)-9010
3 (DC Tac-3)-9011
3 (DC Tac-4)-9012
3-Detail C (Protective Service Unit)-9029

I did some cleaning up a bit based on what was in the database, and by doing it this way, the "old/unused" District talkgroups are still included, but under the "new" Troop format. I can be creative, and yes remain cool, but like it nice and neat.

Anyone have notes for SC21 TG 6502? This past Saturday, RID 579917 (Logan Trivoli FPD 400 or a patch, according to the wiki) affiliated with this TG multiple times. Logged on Site 101 (DuPage County).

Thanks in advance...

No there isn't, but I've heard telecommunicators say "attention all Southeast Units...." and it usually refers to the patrols in I 94 south of 95th st. , I 394, and I 80 from I 294 east to the State Line Road. They still carry S (Sam) Sector Patrol numbers. They also still slip up and say "District-Chicago", so it just might be that too?

17 probationary troopers starting next week, 12 to Troop 3.
Troop 3 Probationary Troopers started going out onto the expressways with a training officer over the weekend. 3-459 through 3-470 are the new radio signatures. 3-441 through 3-458 should be on solo patrol very soon. 70 new troopers added since last December, already have seen some of them transfer to other Troops based on radio signatures. Have seen 1 in Troop 2 and another in Troop 7. Getting out of dodge as soon as they can!

I've heard troopers and dispatchers call the Southwest talkgroup "5A" several times. Are all of the talkgroups labeled the "same" in the radios?

I don't know if all the radios in all the cars have been programmed properly, but have noticed Utility cars and some of the Troop 15 cars working in Troop 3 still have the old programming structure. I've also noticed some of the telecommunicators slip up and call out "District-Chicago" and the next time call it Troop 3, so there's still that going on:

3-A-9005
3-North-9002
3-Middle-9007
3-Southwest-9013
3-South-9008
3 Car-to-Car-9067
3-ISPERN-9051
3 (DC-B)-9006
3 (B-05)-9014
3 (SW Car-to-Car)-9068

Troop 3 Telecommunicators have referenced to "let me check the chart" when asked about channel assignments if a trooper's radio is reprogrammed and they're told to switch to an "old" channel". I would guess the troopers have something similar with them, or because it's been 9 months, they've stopped asking and figured it out.

A good example of this is TGID 9014 that's currently being used for a traffic detail. When a TC is asked (and depending on who it is) "what channel is the detail on", it's been referred to as "5-B", "B-5" and "B-05". Some of the conversations that I've previously posted were heard, and when a Master Sergeant told a TC, "our radios are all reprogrammed on this detail and it's B-05 on our radios now" would be a good indication of the reprogrammed radio channels text tags.

I've also been hearing frequent "cross troop" training between Troops 3 & 15. I'd suspect this might have something to do with what has been posted on here about Troop 15 being disbanded and Troop 3 taking over patrols on the Tollways. I could see Troop 15 being "slotted in" to the Troop 3 call signs since 3-277 through 3-399 has not been used with the Probationary Troopers. In addition, they have many "gaps" of unassigned radio call signs in between too. This is just speculation on my part, and time will tell how close I am.

"Rumor Mill" All the 15 troopers I have spoken many of them long time friends, They have been told just the opposite T3 needs the help
There are changes in the works in regards to Troops 3 & 15 is all I've been told, but yes Troop 3 needs the help and adding Troop 15 troopers would be a welcomed addition.

Cadet Class 143 graduated today, and should be starting in their Troops next week, so new radio ID's and call signs to keep an ear out for. 10 out of 11 Troops received probationary troopers, still none assigned to Troop 15. Last 6 or 7 probationary trooper classes with none assigned to Troop 15

I recently saw a Rochelle PD RID affiliate with SC21 TG 1830 on Site 101 (DuPage County). This TG isn't listed on the Radio Reference SC21 database page. Does anyone know how this talkgroup is used/identified?

Thanks in advance...
