Starcom21 universal trunker question

ok first site 115 has the control channel and 7 data/voice channels - i have been which it and many times i see traffic on every frequency - when that happens if someone keys up what happens .. do they get a busy signal??

and second im seeing talkgroups show up i havent hear ever .. like 12 hours 100 or so hits on a few why dont i hear those threw the radio for example 1429 is DOC Parole but i never have heard them on radio

i guess what im geting at is should i hear what i see on teh screen?? cuz i saw district 5, 16, ans 21 dispatch A on site 115??

I THINK dispatch has equipment to monitor and reply on each freq seperately.

When i listen to Will Co. EDACS I can always hear other officers coming over the radio in the background when dispatch is talking. As if they were just talking to a different dispatcher.

As for hearing what you see, I can't say for sure, I monitor the Joliet motorola system, and always see a TG pop up either with silence, or a skipping static, I always assumed it was different agencies using thesame type of radios just really far away. It could mean you dont have the control channels programmed right. Some trunked systems are picky about where you program them on your scanner

Not all Starcom TG's are assigned to every tower, i hear TG's on T125-Grundy Co that are not on other towers having multiple digital scanners on at once....I hear TG1429 many times on T102-South Cook Co...If you have not rebanded Joliet properly in your scanner you will not hear the 853 freqys and miss transmissions...Will Co has iCALLS on freqys that show up at times and are NOT heard over the trunk system per say but come thru the trunk system, they show up as i40657, created by the user...They can have every TG active on any VC but the CC so we miss some traffic.....
