When riding with the Stark County Sheriff's Office, I noticed that they pick up Chicago PD on their frequency from time to time.

Chicago dispatch zone 1 is on the same exact repeater and input frequency as Stark County, 460.475 and 465.475, respectively.

Anyone in the area ever pick this up on their scanner? I never have.

However, I have picked up skip that Henry County (a neighboring county) picks up on my scanner in my car, which surprisingly enough, is Henry County, Iowa. Anyone hear this?

BTW, first post. :D

Interesting. I did notice in the database that the CTCSS tones are different. Apparently the radios that the Starke County Sheriff’s Department use are not set to decode a CTCSS tone—rather they receive in CSQ mode. That would explain why Chicago PD can be heard on their radios. I'm unsure why it's set up like that. One would think that Starke County would decode the tone so that they wouldn't have to listen to the skip.
