For quite some time I have had 60 STARS frequencies programmed in
3 scanners. Today for the first time I heard real activity. During the morning
it was broken words in P-25 and LNK would display. Uniden's manual
has LNK as Voice Channel Data. I did some VHF trunk experimenting
with the 3 scanners and various base , step and offset settings. I am
using a 250D, 785D and 796D. Later this evening on 159.1125 and
159.1875, in P-25 mode, no TG numbers showing, two techs were on
mobiles discussing today's problems. There was a problem with a
channel bank, swapping cards out and an "HSU" card (whatever that is) .
One tech was going to do some things from the hotel room. This means
he most likely is not a resident tech. Tomorrow someone is going to the
Louisa site. There was mention of 6 staging portables in the charger.
Tomorrow VSP will open, decicate, or have a ceremony at it's new building
at SPHQ.
