New country, new life.
After almost four years, it is time to start again. AR-3000A was a good start, I'm very happy with it.

Now closer to the photographs:

Please do not panic when looking at the naked power supply on my desk, it is very temporary solution until I find some appropriate closure. I am fully aware of the danger.
At the moment I have no outdoor antenna so using a piece of wire, literally. Home brew discone is planned ASAP, just need couple more free weekends. The antenna behind the radio is not connected, it is going to be mounted on my vehicle as soon as the rain stops. (this one is for UHF CB)
The sound: I am using one channel on this small studio mixer to adjust the modulation, works just great for me. The amp and the speakers are not dedicated to the radio, obviously, it is just a great example of merging two hobbies together. It would be possible to send received signal almost as far as it was sent from, (converted to 20-20000Hz) using these great JBLs, haha.

Please don't hesitate to ask me anything. (yes, I am using red light bulb in my lamp lol)
Thanks for looking!

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about (holday and all) but nice 3000A.

I am no longer in Czech Republic. I live in New Zealand since my holiday went unexpected way in November 2004. No regrets. :)

English is my second language.

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about (holday and all) but nice 3000A.

1. I was born in Czech. (Czechoslovakia at that time)
2. I went to visit NZ 4 years ago.
3. I never came back, so starting building up my shack again. On the other side of the marble this time.

Thanks, I like the 3000A. Especially the tilted front panel.

christmas update

Hello there!
I have decided to share with you my new life without furniture, haha I love it!
Now seriously, thanks to RR and Batlabs I got rapidly into Motorola excitement and started my own experiments. I have to say that Motorola radios are the best toys under the sun!

Thanks for asking fireandems13669, I was hoping that someone asks so I get an opinion.
At the moment I am using short rubber duck antennas fitted straight into the back of the radio. Those are taken off old Motorola modules dialing into old analog phone network. (I get quite few of these as they are being replaced by new VHF modules) I believe that the old phone network was around 800MHz but I am not transmitting into them from my UHF and VHF radios, they are only temporary solution before I run some cables onto the roof again. They are ideal for now :)
