hey guys...just wanted to let you know i started my stream of the NJSP. i am pretty much getting most of TroopB, the parkway and Pike. stream should be up 24 hours a day depending on my internet connection...let me know if its too loud or any other suggestions.

Feed sounds great! We don't have a trunk-capable scanner here in our comm center so we can't monitor NJSP. Now, between the scanner and your feed I'll be able to monitor the 3 major highways that go through our jurisdiction.

Don't worry about that law, you're not commiting a crime, i carry my scanner with my when i go out, i drive pass cops and walk around my town with my scannner they don't care that i have it.

Thanks for providing the feed, it does indeed sound great.

One comment; I notice that you're providing a 40K stream. I'm not sure what your ISP allows you for upload bandwidth, but you're using a huge chunk of it depending on how many people are connected to your feed. If you're using WME9 and haven't tweaked your registry settings then only 5 people can be connected at once, which equals about 200K of upload bandwidth.

While you might lose some quality, usually these streams can be run effectively at 16-20k, which would either provide you with more upload bandwidth for personal use or would allow for you to double the amount of clients that could connect at once. You can find out how to increase your client quota in WME9 by typing "maximum connections" in the help search. It does require a registry tweak and provides pretty clear and concise instructions how to do so.

Just .02 from a long time feed provider. Nice job. Fun to listen to NJSP, I transit the state a few times a year and am always tuned in when I do.

thank you for the insight...didnt want to lose quality of stream so i encoded at 40k, but now that you tell me i can reduce, i will when i see more users listening in. i currently have it set to 10 listeners and am running the stream on an unused computer with its own dedicated broadband connection.

i appreciate all the feedback guys.
