I'm thinking about starting an online scanner club any input or ideas please respond here

And I thought this was an online scanner club with separate threads for each state and area of the world, complete with amazing support resources and the best scanner information on the web. But maybe I was wrong. And as @vagrant said welcome aboard!

Well I'm not sure I can post twice on the forum but if I can or if I can I'm sorry but how about my wife has just made a suggestion to me that we start a club on other things to listen to besides PD that seems to be a big thing here and I have found that there is a lot of cool stuff to listen to besides just the PD like right now I'm listening to a garbage yard fire what a mess

Welcome to the RR forums. As aforementioned you've stumbled upon the greatest online scanner & hobbyist community on the interwebs. Why not tell us YOUR IDEAS? What would your club offer that would set you apart from Radioreference? Go ahead, make your sales pitch and entice us!

A shameless plug here....

We also have an extensive database of user-supplied frequencies (that you can use to download to a scanner with the right app) and trunked radio information, as well as the largest radio related wiki on the planet with over 10000 articles and still growing.

Sorry, I wish I could, but I can't be of any help. To the best of my knowledge Radio Reference IS the largest scanner club type website on the Internet, it has literally everything one could possibly imagine and more. All the knowledgeable people hang out here, most are friendly, inclusive, and even help out newbies getting their feet wet. Heck, I recently purchased a new brand name scanner and on page one of the documentation it suggest owners go to Radio Reference as a source of information... you can't beat that!

From my experience, it's hard to get people to visit a site with comparatively little to offer. They may pop in once or twice, to see what's what, but in the end go back to where the action is.

Not only this site but Facebook has a pile of them too. Wouldn't you have to set up a web site, something like this format??
