I was having lunch in a restaurant in Berwick last week when two state dog law officers came in. They were in uniform and one was wearing a radio with a speaker mic but I could not see the actual radio so I don't know what it was. When I left the restaurant I noticed their pickup truck was parked next to my car. There was a 1/4 wave high band antenna on the roof of the cab and a Motorola mobile radio mounted on top of the dash I don't see a listing for the state dog law "wardens" on Radio Reference. Does anyone have an idea what frequency they use? I'm curious because of the state using Open Sky and their truck having a high band antenna and a Motorola radio.

Think it is depending on where your at. For instance in Delaware county Pa. The local townships have their own animal control for example Upper Darby Townships Animal warden is 79-79 and they operate on the Pd sector that Upper Darby uses. There is one company that has contracts for a few townships in the county and their vehicles are marked 41-79 although i have never heard them on county radio.

MontCo's ACO ( Animal Control Officer ) is dispatched via cell phone and or County Radio. He is typically on the Police Regional talk groups.

41-79 is Delaware County Animal Control. I've heard them come up a few times on M4.
