It looks like the state to a $30 Million dollar haircut on Open Sky. Which as you point out, was probably cheaper than the alternative.

NY did something right for once.

Only if you consider pulling out after spending $30 Million on unproven technology "right". Right would have probably have been looking to see if there were any successful implementations of systems of similar size and complexity.

millions was spent for license coordination and related items....then tossed them in the trash....Would have been cheaper to have joined on NYSEG's statewide..

Yes, millions flushed right down the toilet, no doubt. But in the end the bottom line is there will be no OpenSkam piece of junk in NYS that will wind up costing countless HUNDREDS of millions in the coming years and decades, and will never work properly to begin with. Expensive lesson learned, but in the end it worked out for the best.
