State OEM to conduct drill starting today | NJ.com

The NJ Office of Emergency Management has issued a release informing residents that they will be conducting a full-scale exercise at road, rail and waterways throughout Morris, Union, Essex, Bergen, Hudson, Passaic and Middlesex counties.
Do not be surprised to see an increased uniformed police presence at rail stations and other locations throughout the designated areas.
The drill, which will run from today through Saturday, April 9, is being described as an exercise to test responder deployment and response capabilities in the state’s Urban Area Security Initiative region.

I didn't even hear anything today. Not even on the UTAC channels. I have a BCD396XT. The scanner would pick up the channel being active, but I wouldn't hear anything. Just silence. Maybe I have something set wrong?

I heard my town (Nutley) and Belleville are having checkpoints setup Fri and /or Sat. I bet it will be setup near or in Roche by me not sure about Belleville

All the UTAC traffiic was analog. Morris Co. was doing a radiological drill in Riverdale in conjunction with Jersey City and some other unknown agencies.

Well, this is lame. Even on my Analog scanner, NJUTAC-5 A comes up and I hear nothing. Just sounds like somebody is holding onto the talk button and not saying anything. I've been hearing it fine ever since.
