The radio Reference article on the Air Band refers to the lack of use of 8.33 KHz channel spacing in 2012. Has it changed much over the past 12 years. Any need to bother to search with the 8.33 KHz step?

Here in the US? No. No need.
Hi, I’ve been wanting to ask since a long time… “no need” for same country flights, but what about international flights between North America and Europe, for example ?
How pilots deal with the 8.33 and 25 KHz spacing difference with their plane’s radios ?

Equipped aircraft can use conventional 25 kHz steps and 8.333 kHz steps. Thankfully it's not that big of a deal at all.

Not if you are only interested in air traffic control. There are a few other users on 8.33 kHz channels.
I don't think anything has changed since I posted this:
