Orange county executives have issued a state of emergency . In effect from 6pm - 7am

All vehicular traffic is prohibited within these times.

Exceptions:
Snow removal equipment
Volunteer firefighters
Dire Emergencies
Public Safety Workers

The following roads are closed as of 4pm
Us 209 at Guymard Turnpike ( Both Directions) Downed Tree
St Hwy 17 E/W Between Exits 113 and 118 Numerous Accidents
St Hwy 17m Both Directions , Vehicles off road.

CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES EVERY HOUR ( OR WHEN THEY COME AVAILABLE)

Update 6:10 STATE OF EMERGENCY IS NOW IN EFFECT

State route 32 t Quaker rd.
Closed- Downed tree

Also Per Oc 911- Any non important communication to 911 ( Pole #'s, Road conditions )should be done by landline .

Update- 8:00

I- 84 Milepost 2.0 All lanes closed due to road conditions.
I-87 Nys Thruway Mileposr 54.4 Fallen Trees ( Lanes Blocked )
I-87 - NYS THRUWAY, Milepost 45.5 Accident between exits 17-16

Power Is out to about 19,000 customers

Update- 10:50 As EJM stated the State of Emergency has been extended

State route 284 through Westtown - impassable due to drifts
State Route 94 in Warwick - one lane

State D.O.T. is working on bringing in snowblowers from other region's

Numerous Trees and Power lines down
Orange & Rockland Utilities 20,644 without power
Central Hudson - 147,318 without power
NYSEG- About 20,000 w/o power

Metro North Train Port Jervis line Is Stuck At Station Rd in Salisbury Mills , Ff's and Ems are extracting patients.

Update - 4:19 pm

NOAA is forecasting another 1-3 inches by tomorrow morning for Orange county.

Metro North Still has Suspended Service on the Port Jervis Line

State Route 284 is in the process of being opened ( trust me i know )
94 through Warwick is re opened
I 84 is one lane in each direction

Outages:
Orange & Rockland: 22.844 customers w/o power
Central Hudson: 146662 customers w/o power

Update 12:34

For the most part the storm is over . However cleanup is not, many of the local roads are open , as are major highways.

There are still alot of power outages. I spoke with an Orange & Rockland Rep. He said by monday after noon everyone should be back online.

Central Hudson does not have an eta.

Trains are back on schedule , except in the event that something happens to their line .

Since this had alot of views , I will post every time severe weather warnings are posted . Or a big event is happening.

But i need feed back . What do you want to know about . Simple warnings and watches , or big emergencies ? And also write below what you thought of these posts . Don't hold anything back either , say what you want !
