State of Florida Trunked Systems ?

From the database board it would appear that there are 2 large systems for the state.

FHP would be on the State of Florida EDACS Pro-Voice(EDACS Networked) System. It states that some of this is ProVoice and analog.

FHP, Marine Patrol and other agencies(is there a list) are on the (Motorola Type II SmartZone). It states that some of this is APCO-25 and some of it is analog.

A) Can anyone hear anything analog on either of these systems.
B) What other agencies use these systems.
C) There is mention of 800 mutual aid on 866.0125 and 866.5125, are these monitorable at all, if so, how do you scan for them.
D) I am trying to understand what could be monitored and by what.

The statewide Motorola digital system can be monitored with a digital scanner. The newer statewide EDACS Pro-Voice system cannot be monitored with any scanner. I don't believe there is any analog on either system.

The mutual aid channels, 866.0125, 866.5125, etc., are all analog and can be monitored with any scanner that can receive the 800 MHz band.

The statewide trunked systems are used by state law enforcement agencies, like the Florida Highway Patrol, Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, DOT Motor Carrier Compliance, Alcoholic Beverage Division, State Dept. of Law Enforcement, State Fire Marshall, State Attorney, Dept. of Corrections, and a few others.

Florida System

Primarily the Motorola system was developed from the South..Keys, Miami area originally with it going up to Daytona and over to Orlando. The rest of the State was eventually to follow. Then onde day, Commnet Ericsson became the vendor and then its radio group was acquired byM/A Comm finally, and that was the end of the Motorola System for Statewide coverage. M/A Com started from the SouthWest side ( think Naples, Tampa etc and began to work up the coast replacing the combined VHF LO, VHF and UHF stuff from the varying agencies.) Jacksonville and the region up there has been completed and now they are supposed to install the EDACS system in where the Motorola system still resides, which means East coast and central going South. There are / is the capability for some analog takgroups however the operational use by the State is in digital ( Provoice) with encryption, and also utilize ESK..... This is a nutshell description and if you search both here and on the internet you can find a more in-depth and specific details and discussion.

Can anyone give me a crash course for FWC in Broward county? Are they dispatched from Miami or W.Palm? And can anyone tell me what these trunk ids and abbreviations are for?

I can tell you that FWC in Broward County is dispatched on the "Mia North" (Miami North) talkgroup.

In your list: C2C = car to car; Mia = Miami; WPB = West Palm Beach; Mara = Marathon.

Those are the Broward County Zone-14 talkgroups. They are used for mainly for Police Mutual Aid, Port Everglades and Airport event ops, and usually 14K is the talkgroups used for airport alerts. 14A is Broward Call, 14B Fire Call, 14C PD Call, etc. etc.

Im also pretty sure that the below channels are 14L, 14M, 14N and 14 O in that order.
