Twice now I've heard State Parks units talking to Northern, making reference to "the 660 radio". Both were on 857.9375 Mt Tam (Gold):
Back in July, I heard Northern ask a State Parks unit for a radio check on "the 660" (it sounded like he was going to switch to another radio for the check). This evening, I heard what sounded like a supervisor asking Northern "did you try him on the 660 radio?"
Does anyone know that "the 660 radio" is?
