TERRE HAUTE — The recent firing of three Indiana State Police troopers from the Terre Haute District are unrelated, according to an ISP spokesman.

Probationary Trooper Darryl D. Cooley, Trooper Robert R. Decker, and Trooper Jason R. Fischer all have been terminated, Sgt. Joe Watts stated Tuesday.

“Each termination stands on its own individual circumstances and are unrelated to each other,” Watts said in a news release.

TERRE HAUTE — An Indiana State Police trooper who was fired recently is appealing his termination and calling a key allegation against him “false.”

Trooper Robert Decker, a nearly three-year veteran of the ISP, was fired from his position with the State Police on Jan. 22. Police officials accused Decker of failing “to schedule a minimum of 10 counseling sessions for alcohol abuse” contrary to a “written directive” from a police superior.
