Hey

Sorry to have to ask, but I haven't been spending much time in PA lately. I am soon going to be driving (as I often have in the past) from Buffalo to Maryland on assorted roads and Interstates.

I have examined the wiki list of SP barracks that are on Open Sky and those that are not.
PSP Troop VHF Channel Assignments - The RadioReference Wiki
My question is: How updated and how correct is this list?

I see a lot of "not on Open Sky" and "_______ drops Open Sky"
What is the status of the system? If counties are dropping it, how is it still in existence?

Thank you
And sorry for beating a dead horse.

Good Day

As long as the towers are up and they pay the electric bill the System will be alive, but like everything else O/S a users experince will vary greatly. Howver, I understand text message works will on the system!

Program all the analog PASP channels. There still is a fair amount of activity in many of the rural areas you'll pass through on your route. You may catch snippets of comms explaining they tried the "800 radio" or "digital radio" but couldn't raise (car/dispatch) so "am using the 'regular' system".

I agree with popnokick. I know that i still
hear a lot of activity on PSP analog VHF out of the SW PA area.

Mike

I cn bump that,,im in philly,just turning it on,right now,,,B-base
C-base,,E-base,B-Mob,PTC 2&4
mostly status checks and troubled motorist,a traffc stop/reg checks
*11 calls-but a fair ammt of hits for morning,,n less than 5 min..\

im pretty urban,800meg antenna-pro106,and the 97..

all on analog-CT

my reccomendton is to keep the base/mobile freqs stacked,,
A-Base
A-Mobile
B-Base
B-Mobile
C-Base
Ect,ect..

this way you can track the comm bck n forth between the unit
and dispatch by thumbing up n down..

doing it while driving,,i do it,
but my eyes are on the road, and its by
touch,,eyes on only at redlights..

you takes your own risks,,,
