State Police Shift Times

I will be spending some time in Norfolk on business in May.
I've been listening to the Division 5 feed and noticed that the same units are on at midnight and 1pm.

Do the SP use 12 hour shifts now? (Well, I guess it's either that or the Troopers really enjoy working)
Is that new?

Its possible you could hear them working their regular shift, then working a part time detail somewhere--work zone or something..
