Like nearby WSSU LE, UNCSA LE operated on the local city/county trunked system, and each school had their own talkgroups on the system. They would definitely have the local city/county trunk system freqs and VIPER interop freqs in them unless they were reprogrammed. They are also highly likely to be A model radios. APX6000s replaced them BTW.

Just looked at the website, no one has bid on those radios and accessories, a little surprised by that. Bidding ends this coming Thursday.

Thanx, ZNR and Nate! Sounds like a great idea! I will be in Durham over the coming weekend and can make time to see old friends, partake of victuals, and talk radio stuff, etc.

As to the original subject, The radios at WSSU and UNCSA and FCSD that I was involved with were all AN models. Pretty limited compared to the BNs that may possibly still be in use. Some ANs had been taken out of service a good while back. The WS/FC system is for the time being still Type II, but plans are afoot to change all that.

A friend and I bought these. If anyone needs something that was in this auction, feel free to email me at imburtgummer@gmail.com
They are currently not P25 flashcoded. I looked at them and they are clean. 8 meg radios.
