My buddy told me that it was actually pretty boring scanning anyway.

Besides the occasional chase or wreck, its callin in plates and DL's.
You learn to live w/o them. :wink:

Most of FHP's communications/dispatching is done via MDT. They talk very little.

I guess the question should be, what agencies are we talking about? If it's just highway patrol, no big deal.

I'm an LEO in Georgia, I travel to FL often and I like to listen to FHP and when in Miami, the city narcotics task force. I wish a scanner was out that could track ProVoice. O well.

SLER agencies

The primary ones are Highway Patrol.... Fish and Wildlife, FDLE, DOT and several others such as Investigators from Fire Marshal, Insurance, Attorney General, etc. etc. ... Its not a whole lot and really the Fish & Wildlife is probably the most interesting. FDLE has enryption and also there are a few task forces that are using the State system, and its 50-50 on encryption...
The nice thing about FHP is you know where the wrecks are faster than the traffic alerts and the highway warning system....

I know Wakulla SO is going to get on the system as a trial bases. To see if it is worth going to. That is the only local agency that I know of going to it in the Tallahassee area. That I have heard of.

Even if they make a scanner that could track provoice, the scanner would still not be able to track it due to the ESK that they implemented on the control channel. FHP is boring anyways. Listen to the city of miami Narcodics
