We have a Garage door in our station for one of our engines that keeps opening by itself, allowing whomever wants to to walk on in and take whatever they want(we do not have 24/7 staffing).

The door seems to go up whenever it wants to, and will not go down for some time, hit the close button it goes down a few inches then reverses. We dont have obstruction sensors either so that isnt causing it. It will finally go down after a while but it still goes up whenever it wants to, seemingly.

To rule out a defective transmitter you may want to remove the batteries from the one in the cab long enough to see if it persists. If it does, your manual open/close switch may be intermittently shunting (closing the circuit) and causing the door to activate. Keep us posted. That bay wasn't build on an old graveyard, was it?

If the problem is not in the remote control then you'll probably need an electrician to check out the motor starter controls. You probably have a box next to the door with black and red open/close buttons on the front.

Ill take some pictures and upload them later today. I removed the battery in the Engine's transmitter for a while but the door still went up. The button is not stuck because there is a red LED TX indicator on it.

I took the cover off of the switches on the wall and it did not seem to be shorting.

Do you have a Military Installation near-by that probably just implemented it's new 380-400 Mhz Radio system ?? Common Occurance

When you say Hit the Close Button, we assume you mean a Wireless Device, correct?

Negative on both. The nearest Military base is ~50 miles away. Also we have two openers, one on the wall near the entrance to the station(so we can open them when we come in so they will be up by the time we are ready to pull out). And we also have them to close the doors once we leave the station on the apparatus.

I took the batteries out of the transmitter and it still goes up.

door opener

Remove the power from the receiver that responds to the remote control. If the problem stops then you'll know that it's in the wireless control system. If the problem remains with the wireless remote control completely disabled you'll know that the problem is in the motor control circuitry which is when you call the electrician or your door mechanic.

We just started a support ticket with a local company that deals with them. We will let them deal with it.

That could be where the problem is.Try disconnecting that and see if it stops.Disconnect it at the motor if you can.

I recall it was ~30 years ago one neighbor to the left side of my parents hpuse had a cb, the neighbor across the street, their garage door would open-close on keying up the cb.

If the opener is one of the older ones with dip switches for the code, change the positions on several if not all the dip switches.

If by dip switches you mean these then yes, we have them.
