Status bit option on Motorola P25 digital system

I noticed while programming a Motorola P25 digital system on the BCD396T that the status bit option is unavailable (Not visible in options menu of the scanner or the programming software). When programming a Motorola P25 digital system on the BCD996T this option is available on both the scanner and the programming software. Any idea why??

I don't believe status bits are used on a P25 digital system.
