Hello all

I will be staying literally on the northern perimeter of Miami International airport for 1 week, near 4427 NW 36th St, Miami Springs, FL 33166.

I can bring my Unication G4 and my TRX-1 with me. I am interested in listening primarily to unencrypted Fire Dept and Police for any calls in area nearby, BUT there are so many small towns and municipalities that I don't know where to start. Also, I see that two "Dispatch" talkgroups exist for MIA airport, not sure if that is Miami airport property only, or for the surrounding area.

Can anyone shed some light?

Thank you

I'm sure there's more that will chime in, but here's the stuff for PD/Fire in Miami and Miami-Dade County (including Hialeah and Coral Gables).

Not sure if any of those are simulcast, so reception on your TRX-1 might not do good if they are. Your G4 should be fine since all those are 700/800 MHz systems.

To add, where you are staying is MDFR Coverage. I wouldn't even bother with Coral Gables or Miami Beach, only 3 stations each and rarely anything "cool" to listen to. We have 79 stations 2 Helos, 2 Fire Boats, and of course the Surfside collapse going on. A lot more to listen to.
At Surfside on the pile, they are using the USAR Group 14 freq analog and P25 digital (XTS5000s) for the most part with selectable encryption. The standby fire attack group is using MDFR Tac-1
I hope this helps
