STEAMBOAT SPRINGS (AP) - A 22-year-old man died Friday after snowboarding on an intermediate trail at the Steamboat ski area, resort officials said.
The circumstances of his death were under investigation. Routt County Coroner Robert Ryg didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
Ski patrol members went to the scene around 2:30 p.m. and began CPR on the man, resort spokesman Michael Lane said. The snowboarder was taken to an ambulance, but the man was pronounced dead before he could be taken to a hospital, Lane said.
The man, whose name wasn't released, was with friends and was wearing a helmet, Lane said.
