Sterling Heights Police/Fire system upgrade

I was reading an article on the Michigan Firefighters Union website that state that Sterling Heights Fire and Police will be upgrading thier radio systems to an 800mhz freq. Anyone out there know any info about this?

Will it be thier own system or will they be joining the MPSCS as part of the Macomb County sub-system? If so what is the time frame for the upgrade?

From what I read, Warren is going to upgrade their system to be a subsystem of the MPSCS, and add towers to cover Sterling Heights...

Sterling Hgts is planning to go to the MPSCS System, but probably not anytime soon. I spoke to someone from our Radio Repair Dept several months ago. He said tower sites were picked out, but it'll be sometime before we're up & running. Until then, we're still on the traditional 460MHz freqs....
