All of the scanner sticky's have been closed except the BR330T and BCD996T. Why is this? I disagree with this move but it's not my boards.

Because the sticky threads have gotten out of hand. The purpose of a sticky thread is defeated when it has 500+ posts, and the same questions are posted over and over and over like a horse being beaten to death.

We'll keep some sticky threads available for new scanners - then we'll close them soon and let each person either post to an applicable existing thread, or ask a question in a new thread.

I'm hoping that that when folks learn of details, information, or other stuff that really belongs in a stick, that they will update a wiki page with the information versues expecting someone to parse thorugh 1200 posts (like the 396 thread) trying to find the facts and answers to a question.

Another set of sticky's that will be dying soon are the breaking events stickys - to hopefully be replaced with a good robust chat server/engine for the rr community.

Maybe these new scanners (and other large stickys) would be better off with their own "sub-forum", instead of just one sticky thread? That way specific topics could be easily separated.

this was already discussed... having a forum for each scanner would waste too much memory... just more things for lindsay and the admins to worry about
