If your a railfan, ya might want to setup a bank in your scanner to sniff out channels that might be in use but are not known.

Hi Crayon and readers?

Why waste a memory bank when you can use the search feature? Scanners and ham VHF/UHF rigs usually have two channels reserved for band scan limits, you just program the lowest and highest one for the band segment you want to search out. Then with a scanner you push the "search" button or on a ham rig the "scan" in VFO mode. Careful with that one, if you forget and leave it in memory mode you'll scan the memory, not the band.
