Well, Dougie, you'll find that you are severely outnumbered in your opinion; half of the prominent posters in this MD forum are active firefighters or EMS, and at least another 30% are like myself, firebuffs. I actually never listen to police activity because I find that most of it isn't exciting. For every opinion one way, you'll find a hundred that disagree; we'll all just have to agree to disagree.

If you'd like to see more police activity, start filling out some incident reports on this sticky thread when you hear it...

So I guess firefighters (like myself), have a boring job to do and yawn whenever the alarm sounds. Oh and we are never in harms way. And know that we will always return safely home.

And for us volunteers. I can't understand it. We do it because we like to? Man we are boring.

Dude. GET A LIFE.

Regards,
Mike.

i think we all know that dougie would be hard pressed to continue in his foolish line of thought (regarding firefighters and rescue personnel) if his house was on fire, and/or his life in danger...

...sick person on a ship coming into (by?) Deep Creek, I think, but I can only hear the CG person, not the other side, on 156.8 (Channel 16)....now she's repeating they got the person off and en route to AA Medical...

Thanks Mlevin...it turns out it was the 3 alarmer at Bonnie Ridge Apartments. I really have to start remembering to bring my scanner to work. :x

Was really bummed out about this one. The fire was a mile from my house, but I was on my way out of town and couldn't go buff. I had to be content with listening to half the County FD running down the street.

10-80 Balt Co ID 1808 (107) at 10:50 pm Falls/Shawan Rd

{edit} actually, another Balt Co special....multiple units "following" a fast-moving truck w/ expired tags - not using flashing lights and they're assembling other cars ahead - heading West over Falls. See also Garrison's TG.

And by the time I did a pursuit of the database to Maryland, Baltimore County, 10-codes to find out what 10-80 meant, the pursuit was over.

Note: Dave, up in your neck of the woods, York (155.415) working with MSP chasing down a car.

Hey - refreshing on the 10-codes, eh? It's still going on....approaching 30 min total "pursuit"....foxtrot en route to light the guy up......still TG 107 ID 1808 ....

(edit) North York Rd near Upper Glencoe....perp just zipped thru a lawn.....foxtrot overhead......chase is picking up.

Indeed, Mo....it just keeps going & going.....maybe he's onto the formula for eluding Balt Co PD - just keep going until the supervisor gets nervous and calls it off. MSP now involved and hoping to deploy stopsticks. Al - are you catching this?

Crossing into PA.....PSP being called for (155.505/155.85). MSP 39.44 active, as well.

Sticking with the Franklin precinct (TG1712) for the broadcast since Foxtrot is on that channel. MSP Golden Ring (39.44) has units in the chase.

Golden Ring announces they (MSP) have cars at the PA line if he tries crossing.

Gotcha....wonder why BCoPD is doing play-by-play on both 1808 & 1712? Would think the Co would all be on one TG.

Golden Ring just announced to MSP mobiles that the car is 7 miles into PA.

Dave, which PA freq do I need here?

Yes, Spleen...one and the same.

PSP Base 155.505 Mobile 155.85 ......they have 155.475 and may come up on that to talk w/ MSP - will let you know.

PSP car approaching the chase area at this time staying on 155.505/.85 for now. PSP to set up roadblock ahead.......now using 155.46 PSP car-car TAC, as well.

Spikes deployed ATT by PSP.......yep, Al, I can only copy PSP cars on the mobile freq when they are within about 10-15 miles of the state line - doubt you'll get anything on the mobile freq.

Stopped........smashing his window open........got him.

Thanks Dave...I'm picking up 155.505 fairly well but only the base station...but that's what you said...nothing on 155.85 so far from here.

Golden Ring doesn't know where they'll take this fruitcake now that they got him stopped and arrested. Broke out window of car to get him out.
