That was quite a fire in Annapolis tonight. I was listening to the helo pilots hovering over the scene taking video for all the local TV stations. They were full of complaints about how the fire depatment was fighting the fire. It must be nice to sit up there and complain and not have to be on the ground in that freezing weather actually doing the work. Oh well, that's human nature I guess.

For those that listened into the webcast which I kept on the AA County fire channels all evening, I'm sorry if some of you got bumped due to excessive traffic at the site. I could see PCs trying to sign on and they'd flick on and off. Part of the problem was that we had some guys signing on with multiple PCs on their home networks. That eats up lots of bandwidth and prevents other people from listening in. I had one guy sign on with four PCs. Not much I can do about it other than to ban the greedy IP addresses in the future. If I was just transmitting audio, we could have tons of people on there...but with the video going also, I start running out of bandwidth.

Hope you've all had a good holiday weekend so far.

They were using the standard 123.025 freq for helo chat. From over Annapolis, they were loud and clear here of course. I put a note up on the webcast a couple of times with the helo freq but I know everyone doesn't stare at the monitor while tuned in. Were you able to see the video portion of the webcast Mark using a dialup? Normally, it takes about a 50kbs or better dialup connection to be able to see it.

Sad - I recently saw a sign on a vacant lot on Main Street where a fire took out some buildings several years ago. They're finally about to build there... (it was about a block away from where this fire is).

that would be (someone correct me if im wrong) the hotel that used to stand there
