Just heard a third alarm struck for a fire in Montgomery County - apparently at Leisure World. I heard it on the VHF dispatch freq «154.16» and units were told to respond on 7G. I don't monitor the MontCo TRS so can't put it up on the webcast.

[Edit] Understand a fourth alarm has been struck.

Have a couple of mobile units plus a helo chasing someone on the Department of Natural Resources freq «159.45». Kind of unusual for these guys. Not sure of the location yet.

1922: The helo just sent the coordinates of the position where he's hovering...38.50.285 X 76.33.756 and mentions that's over Muddy Creek Road. I have units 334, 337 and 341 along with Tawes working the freq. The helo is the one using unit number 334. 341 (female) says she's about 5 minutes away from the location at 1924.
1926: The 334 helo telling 337 to turn on his red & blues so he can find him. Tells him to go back up Muddy Creek Road and that'll make it easier to find him.
1929: The location is around Galesville MD.
1934: The 334 helo is trying to lead the mobile units to a farm house apparently.
1944: Helo still leading the mobile units toward a car that's back off Muddy Creek Road on dirt roads. They see the car but haven't managed to get up to it yet.
1945: The unidentified car came right toward the police units...don't know what's happening though...the helo is aksing the units on the ground if they're okay but isn't gettting a good reply. Finally unit 337 says everything is okay. The guy in the car claims he's one of the owners of the farm. Apparently, this driver had been reported as being armed. The ground unit says they recovered a pistol.
1950: The helo (unit 334) says he needs to leave to refuel. He tells the units on the ground to get the coordinates of their location and the name of the farm.
2008: Helo unit 334 reports the chase started at 1915 for the ground unit's log.

(I wonder if this is the NATIONAL 2 (or could it be NATURAL 2?) helo I heard on the Andrews Approach freq that I mentioned over on the Sticky MilAir thread.)
(It was determined over on the Sticky MilAir thread that this was NATURAL 2, a DNR helicopter. He used that callsign when checking in with airway controllers but strictly used his 334 unit number here on the DNR freq.)

It was kind of interesting to work from the info given by the helicopter and bringing the area up on the Google Satellite map and following along the roads and farms that were being mentioned and actually being able to "see" the location they were talking about.

Quite a wild, prolonged chase in PA, nearing the DE line....began in MD. See PSP 154.755, MSP 39.84.....DSP 800 (go to: http://www.state.de.us/dsp/ and click on online scanner, then select Newcastle Co). Subject armed. 30 min chase so far.....

....both in custody now.

House fire in Chevy Chase. I believe it is 2 alarms. It is in the area of Connecticut Ave and Taylor St.
I'm streaming the operations. Link below.

New Chopper 4 is on the scene getting video. They showed the house fully involved.

At 1653 they are reporting that the 2nd floor has burned through.

On Kenilworth Ave a Park Police officer was shot and his weapon and something else of his were stolen.

The suspects are three black males in a stolen 2005 Toyota Tacoma. It is either grey or silver and has a Maryland tag bearing 28M817.

Just a note on that tag number...it's a partial. The first number is missing.

Good eye, that's all they passed. Not real sure why.

Just found this from CBS news:

"A man believed to be a federal law enforcement officer has been carjacked and shot at an Exxon gas station at 1329 Kenilworth Avenue at Benning Road, Northeast.

Three to four culprits may be involved. Police have issued a lookout for the off-duty officer’s silver Toyota Tacoma pickup."

I didn't realize that other thing stolen was the officer's vehicle. You would think they would be able to get an accurate tag number.

**The latest update from CBS is that it was a HUD officer, shot twice.

The BOLO being passed among various departments over the past hour or so have all mentioned that it was only a partial tag with the first number missing. You're right though...it would seem simple enough to get the full tag number of the officer's vehicle and issue a supplement to the original call. They stole all his ID along with his "revolver" according to the BOLO.

The other was Squad 33. The vehicle involved was a late model Acura Integra that impacted a utilty pole on the driver's side, with about 3' of intrusion into the passenger compartment. The driver's side front and rear wheels were almost touching.
