1344- SAM 44 (VC-25 # 82-8000 PPO ADW)-departs ADW then ADS-B shows heading west

. NOTE: Former POTUS & First Family heading to Palm Springs CA.

According to news reports callsign was supposed to be SAM 82800 however looks like they changed it to the POTUS number.

Obama Marine helo flight to Andrews was EXECUTIVE-1

I think SAM44 became standard for any VC-25 or C-32 presidential backup flights related to Obama. I can't find any reference to it or even SAM43 for Bush.

Shouldn't be too long to see if SAM45 becomes the standard backup to AF1.

1545- STALK54/55 taking over in the CAP. Probably 169th FW from SC.
1554- Odd, hearing Guard Dog L/C on VHF and UHF but not hearing the fighters at all. STALK53 is RTB
1558- STALK53 with ZDC 284.7 RTB McEntire. That confirms 169th FW.

ZOMBE56 is RTB KLNK

1619- STALK54 has a TOI and change to 257.2 needs a block at 3000-5000
1620- And never mind, declared friendly.
1627- SONIC31/32 flight ready to RTB Langley. Extra fighters in the CAP this time apparently.

ALE Question. Does anyone know of a ALE decoding program that can decode ALE when using an online SDR such as kiwi.hu? I''d like to use my laptop to monitor SDR with the ALE decoding installed so there is no need to connect any audio cables. Is this possible?

Just curious if there's an easy/efficient way to monitor certain Mil Air ADSB Activity like this? I run 2 PiAwares and it'd be pretty cool to load up a list of aircraft IDs, or maybe just a way to filter out the Mil and Interesting aircraft I pick up each day?

Yes not easy.I filter out my old radarbox logs on their software using mode s prefix
wildcards.. Example most US mil start with AE so filter with AE* with * being the wildcard.
Also ADF* is another for some US milair.
C2* for Canada
43* for UK
15* for Russian types.
However populating my particular individual aircraft ID's was old fashioned internet searching and adding manually to my local database..Took me years and still a work in progress..
I also wish their was a easier way via a USB dongle..

I use PlanePlotter and have it configured to create an alert log each day. Everything I've marked as interesting in my database shows up in an alert window when it's being received. They're all logged in a text file, but there are usually multiple entries per aircraft due to various things like initially not receiving the squawk or callsign, and then receiving those later.

Confirmed....SAM45 was the callsign for the PEOTUS's flight from LGA to ADW on January 19th.

No it's not confirmed. He hasn't made a flight as POTUS. I know that flight was SAM45. That's why I brought it up. What I'm talking about is now that he's president, will the backup that flies along AF1, be it another VC-25, a C-32 or whatever use the callsign SAM45 the same way the Obama's backup was SAM44.

Travis,

My guess is that the backup acft will be one of the C-32s.

Seems today's TABOR 41-46 A-10C flights returning to Martin State went into Gander CYQX
along with their KC-135 tanker BLUE 92..
Their KC-10 never got out of Lajes along with them so guess as far as they could go with 1 KC-135.
Maybe they can hop down this way later tonight or tomorrow.

Rgr Ron CLEAN 82 was with yesterdays group and is now with 6AMW/927ARW
MacDill and headed home today..
Not sure if all 6 A-10's made Gander today or if lone KC-135 just took a few.
Looking for original BLUE 91 KC-10 83-0082 which made Lajes with second group 2 days
ago but nothing since.Maybe broken A-10 or KC-10?
Will see what pops up tomorrow..
