A little out of area, but curious find on ADSBx, N163EB Hex ADFD39, showing as a military flight. But Flightaware showing that registration belonging to a civilian company/owner with hex of A0FD39. Looks like it's flying bogus numbers to me. Flying west into Iowa.

I heard him working Potomac and lost him after that and assumed he went into BWI. Thought he might be visiting the Northrop guys. Sorry for confusion.

At 1940 Velcro 04 departed from Martin State and is heading north. Working ZDC Hagerstown (134.15) & ZNY Harrisburg (133.475) at FL410.
Looks like he is heading back to Hanscom.

2150 local see a CLEAN 62 KC-135 61-0264 121ARW eastbound from Ohio assume staging.
2220 local CLEAN 62 dropping down in Maine so assume Bangor staging.

You ever notice that even when Maine KC-135's hang local up North for alert/training always use #8 suffix
no matter what day of the week it is?
Ex tonight Maine 88,89.You never see a MAINE 31,32 etc.
Most other tankers with 8 suffix are cross country but not the Maineiacs.
Past log search of this year there was a MAINE 90 and 91 one timers but always MAINE 85-89.
Guess they like the crazy 8's :)

Mark, all,

I asked a MAINEiac pilot this question once at the Brunswick NAS airshow. It's nothing special. Basically, the first mission of the day always starts with 85. If there are more, then the numbers go up from there. Cross country or special flights are almost always 90 and up from there. Lately, the only other callsign they've used is MOLSON 01, 02, etc. when working with the Canadian CF-18s on NORAD exercises.

The same applied to the Pease tankers back when I asked this question to them. They were a little different but always started with PACK 11 for the first flight of the day, then 22, 33, 44, and so on. Now, since getting the KC-46, they have been starting with 21, 22, 31, 32, 41, 42, etc. They also seem to use the 90s for cross country or special flights. (There is a PACK 91 which just took off as I type this!) Pease has used 80s and 90s for delivery flights of their new tankers as well.

Hope this helps in some way.

The CLEAN tankers should be supporting this deployment:

Thinking the Idaho F-15E's are already at Seymour Johnson cause CLEAN 63 stationed at McGuire.
Prob will be joined by a CLEAN 73 out of McGuire to drag first two groups up to Maine area.
Haven't seen any CLEAN tankers out West either.. CLEAN 62,72 will topoff up North and KC-10's
CLEAN 61,71 will drag across. CLEAN 62,72 may tag along as well. Six thirsty F-15E's per squad.
Once again the maligned KC-10 makes Altrav's happen :)

Friday he is in Sanford FL, Saturday La Crosse and Greenbay Wisconsin, and then a three day trip to Vegas starting Monday. Haven't heard/seen anything about NJ this weekend.
Schedule might have changed. Earlier in the week news media reported he would be in NJ.
