0739- Komodo 04 (E-8C # 97-0200 AE1465) is heading our way from his home base at Warner Robins GA. Wonder if he'll be doing the same acty as last time, with the 121st FS F-16s in the PAX areas?

Yep, Komodo 04 working Huntress (139.7) & Bay Watch (270.8). Brave flt (2 X F-16s DC ANG) working Huntress & Bay Watch w/Komodo 04. Cleared into R-4006 & R4008 at FL250.

0805- Salty Dog 01 flt (2 X EF-18G VX-23) working ZDC Patuxent (281.4) & ZDC Blackstone (235.625). Maybe off on one of their areas calibration flts?

Coronet East 035, with these GOLDs crossing with nowt and a C17 doing EGUL>OJMS last week & the MO due back looks likely 48th on the go, only other ones due back are the SW, presuming the AC are swapping the FM then the SW would be on BLUE so cant be for them, that's all a bit garbled but hope it explains it!
Expect a 3rd cell tanker to show up at some point as normally 18 fighters over 3 cells.
Regards the SW swaps, SC and oddly SJ are in the frame, unsure of the SJ connection at this time!!

Gotcha. I know the Makos have been overseas since Mid January but MO Strike Eagles are due back. Hope they pass through PSM on their way home.

Cannot receive 139.700 from home site (that feeds the CAP) due to interference. Was trying to see if Huntress ground site was audible. Presume they are using something besides the Gibbsboro site. Oh well.

Terry,

There must be a Huntress site close to me, because I can hear Huntress (fair to poor) on 139.7

0818- Braves also using 126.2 as part of this exercise w/Komodo 04.

0832- Heard couple of short xmissions on 355.3 (Quantico Ops). There's a Reach 760T (C-17 # 95-0162) that looks to be heading to Quantico. Maybe that's who I heard. Maybe dropping off some HMX-1 stuff.

0854- Braves are bugging out. RTB ADW via "the tunnel".

0905- Looks like Komodo 04 is bugging out as well. Checks out w/Huntress (139.7)

0914- Komodo 04 checks in w/Bay Watch (305.2) and advises they are ready for the next part of their mission. They are proceeding to point 1 HCM (Harcum VOR) then on to ILM 008 (Wilmington NC ??)

Odd coincidence, I also get interference on 139.7 and 139.15 too. I keep these channels in scan but have to run with the ATT on both channels.

Yeah could be the type of radio and the intermediate frequencies used internally, local cable line interference or in house devices. Some of my radios here get it others do not. Running SDS200 at home in PA with a preamp inline as well. Down here at beach - would have to try it in each of the radios to see which one gets the interference.

The acty with the Braves & Komodo 04 is probably to give the F-16s some training against a large target. They usually practice intercepting small planes (Civil Air Patrol) and I guess they figured they need some practice against larger, faster, high-flying targets.

0955- Got Nighthawk 21 & 31 working on discrete (273.95)

1005- Venus 01 (VC-25 # 82-8000 ADFDF8) pattern work at ADW.

1045 - VENUS01 (VC-25A, 82-8000) working pattern at KMDT (124.1)

Usually when Venus 01 or 02 do pattern work at an airfield other than ADW, it denotes that that particular airfield could serve as a diversion airfield in case of bad weather or other emergency. So VC-25 crews need to be current with the airfields current procedures & local environment.
