Rgr would think in pre-flight planning with squad leader quickly going over filed flight plan the issue/location of possible diverts
would be settled there.Not when airborne already :)

Way off topic speaking of icing the American Mariner lake ship coming off Lake Superior to Duluth Minn today.
Looks friggin cold.Even the ship horn under the bridge sounds frozen.

Based on the conversation - they had already planned out the flight (frequent use of the word as fragged)
I think it was just being proactive based on their current flight position on the way home to Langley.
Well at least that is my viewpoint based on what I heard and how I understood their process.

I would have to agree with you here. Since the conditions are not too great up in the northeast, it makes sense to continually plan for an alternate, especially as a flight of 4. Last thing you’d want to do is make the wrong judgement call possibly risking someone’s life and an expensive F22

Yeah whenever I watch these cams in the winter - I keep hearing Gordon Lightfoot and the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in my head.

1000- Noble 02 w/Zombie 33 chatting about fuel transfer. Not sure I heard it correctly, but sounded like Noble will dump some of his fuel so that Zombie could offload more fuel so they would make their landing weight.

Noble also chat about his unit transitioning to F-35s.

1009- Noble 2 refueled & is RTB to Langley via Pax River----Zombie 33 is also heading home.

Yes and calling out tracks on 364.200 AICC - good to hear that freq active again.

called out a track 233 for 95 miles 32K heading 214 squawk 1507
