Guys,

This was posted on another list.

A few interesting observations from Tuesday night's drill on Capitol Hill.

It sounds as if Eagle and Falcon have U.S. Capitol PD radios. Here is a
conversation between the two talking about Ops2. What is meant by "dropped
a fill?"

http://radio.copterspotter.com/alpha/20220419_195924.mp3

Several of the military helos appeared to come from the 12th Aviation
Battalion, which left me wondering, are we aware of any mil-air or NCR
trunked talkgroups for that unit? They seem to have such an important
mission a bit like the 1st Helo Squadron. They must have some
discrete freqs of their own?

https://mdwhome.mdw.army.mil/taab/12aviation

There was quite a bit of helo coordination on 123.025 among those aircraft
involved in the exercise. But wouldn't it make sense for the U.S. Capitol
to have an "LZ" or even a "tower" freq of its own, a bit like the Pentagon,
Walter Reed, Washington Hospital Center? Perhaps they do and it is not
common knowledge?

Here are some helo photos posted by USCPD:

It showed the AF2 callsign but VP was not on that plane, according to VP Office she is in LA this weekend.

View attachment 120239
98-0001 was c/s SAM799 LAX-ADW
99-0004 was c/s SAM850. Flew ADW-LAX on 4/20 (after VP's event at Vandenberg), then LAX-SFO w/ AF2 for event at UCSF. Stayed in San Fran overnight after AF2 flew back to LAX, and then departed 4/22 for ADW.

Sort of odd that the spare aircraft skipped the Vandenberg event. If AF2 had a malfunction/failed to start, VP would've been stuck.

Looking back to the beginning of this thread, it looks typical for VP's planes to fly home alone after dropping off the VP for an extended CA stay.

A link to the Air Boss audio feed at the bottom of this page. It seemed to be working during the practice yesterday.

Airport Detail: SDF | LiveATC.net

Live TV coverage of the airshow should begin at 3:00 pm/1900Z here:

Thunder Over Louisville 2022: Your guide to the airshow and fireworks spectacular (wlky.com)

The F-22s buzzed my house yesterday while waiting to be cleared into the airshow box for practice (I think only one does the show, the second is a spare).

One of my old airlines will have a Boeing 767 flyover:
