Interesting listening to some A/A chats between various Potus CAP ANG F-15 units over the past year.
Like today some yak yak yak and others barely acknowledge each other except for business at hand.
One thing in common is how very little each pilot knows about the other pilots in their same Home State squadron.
Where did you train, how did you get here, what airline you fly for if you do..
One pilot said a while ago Fed Ex is the best paying airline and many want to fly for them but applicant line is long.
I guess most are short time rotations on the move on different aircraft paths up or down the USAF scale.
One pilot said Kadena is his next stop..
I guess on the ground they don't get together much to swap stories unless trapped together airborne in a NORAD Potus CAP :)

WC-135R 64-14836 COBRA 36, the 'newest' Constant Phoenix nuke sniffer aircraft, flew a long mission off the Atlantic Coast yesterday. The plane descended to 5000 feet over the water and dropped off ADS-B on the southbound leg, perhaps due to lack of receiver coverage.

Was it a shakedown crew training flight for a new plane or is there another nuke sub with engine trouble out in the ocean?

The Air Force crew received this warning over satcom about enemy activity along the route of flight:

AES:AE048D GES: D0 2 6414836 QUARINCXA~1GRD 2 AIR MSG

PEEPS, STAY EAST OF W105A. GO TO POINT LACKS. ALSO AVOID W72B GOING SOUTH. GO TO POINT VIRST. THE NAVY IS PLAYING WITH THEIR TOYS RIGHT NOW.

Possible delivery flight of three F-35s (thanks as always for the heads up jsoergel (y)) passing Kentucky eastbound at 11 am EDT, callsign LIGHTNING ONE.

Air to air on 246.9, audio clip attached below.

1153- ZBW 135.700 advises JBU 1633 to watch for a flight of 3 F-35s. RCH 081 in the area but didn't appear to be in formation with them.
1202- sounds like handed off to ZBW 128.025/263.050 but missed the callsign.

Maybe being dragged by RCH 081 ?

Sure could be. At 10:40 am EDT on 254.6 I heard '[REGION or REGENT?] from REACH ... you are cleared to FL250' on 254.6. That LIGHTNING ONE callsign I heard on interplane was perhaps just a generic usage among the delivery pilots. I've got two AirSpy R2s running, I'll check them as time permits to see if they got any checkins. In the trailing static of the interplane conversation I thought I heard Maine mentioned.

Sounded like those F-35 O2 masks in the reply to REACH. I've attached the brief clip from 254.6, see if you can catch the callsign of the fighters. My callsign guesses are famously tone-deaf even with the help of Ron's list. :)
