VENUS-67 #18-1947 and VENUS-71 #20-1941 both closing in on Niagara Falls again.
USAF sightseeing jets :)

PUDGY-05 KC-46 #16-46021 headed for McGuire over Lake Michigan.
Got one of those older tails they paused building on a long while back when they were having problems.
Was logged April 2021 as BOE-21 in Seattle.Guess still brand new :)

Neptune Strike '22 Kicks off Monday in Mediterranean

HST and it's harem will then be chugging up past the UK for Exercise Cold Response 2022 (up around Norway). This will replace the usual March Joint Warrior exercise (which has in recent years been little bigger than a sunday afternoon punt on the Thames anyway). HMS BigEars, the UKs second floating helicopter platform, has taken over from Queenie and is currently the NATO flagtub and will also be involved (they have fixed all the leaks now). Rumours of the Italian carrier, Giuseppe Garibaldi Biscuit being involved (hopefully that will visit the UK enroute if it is indeed involved....I'd even get out of bed for that one!). USS Arlington, USS Kearsarge, USS Gunston Hall are known to be involved and stocking up with MD/corndogs and apple pie last week. As usual with these things the participants become known in dribs and drabs.
Of course, this was all organised 150 years ago and has nothing to do with ammassing the largest and most potent marine fleet for years anywhere near Russia

0900- Noble 01 chatting with Igor 99 mentioned they are from Jacksonville FL. 125th FW/159th FS, homebase Jacksonville FL International Airport, are TDY up to Langley for 3 month stint. Mentions that ANG units will be pulling CAP duty for the foreseeable future & will operate out of Langley. Bet the FL guys just love being up in cold, snowy Virginia . Did we miss the Fresno guys heading back home?

So looks like 263.2 & 268.2 226.75 are the standard CAP freqs for whomever is pulling CAP duty?

NASA 809 in their atmosphere test U-2/ER2 deployed out East here checking cold wx in Canada.

If anyone is interested here are the ATC comms with NASA 809 and Montreal, and Boston on their initial RTB (LiveATC).

NASA 809 ATC Comms

First time I've heard anyone at FL650. Interesting that the U-2 altitude readout as seen by ATC only goes to FL600, had to explain that to each controller.

Great Coms their Airscan.. That Montreal controller seemed to enjoy the company.
I like those old occasional Astronaut style beeps in the background :)
Were any of those freqs special high altitude freqs? I heard him mention that 127.87 freq as all theirs alone with
NASA 426 if they wanted or was just a Tac freq.
Looks like departure later today for NASA 809. Not sure if another mission or going home to Palmdale.

127.875 is a regular Montreal high altitude frequency, normally cross-coupled with 135.600. Sounds like with the traffic being so light at the time they were able to isolate 127.875 for the NASA aircraft and then used 135.600 for other traffic.

I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. It sounds like some sort of mode/interference (?) with the LiveATC receiver though and not originating from the U-2.

1045- Looks like coast guard doing a search pattern in the Long Island Sound as a TIS-B target
Comms on CG-112 163.050
Distress call received yesterday of boat taking on water with no response. They did a similar search last night. Both sides of Long Island. It is CG Aircraft 2313 out of Cape Cod.

Sound like Apollo/Shuttle Quindar tones on the radio :)
