238.825 & 262.025 are Langley F-22 freqs. Maybe they are up there for a little fun with the DC ANG
Ah yes Glen I see them on my display now as Va ANG. When I heard the A-A on 238.175 first and then heard all of those other freqs come up active, I just assumed that they were DC without looking at the tags. Thanks for the clarification!

Guys

Did some Googling and according to DOD reports the MA ANG F-15s and the Navy New Orleans & Fresno F-15s are on the list to be replaced with either the new F-15EX or the F-35.

So maybe the Hawk flt down to New Orleans yesterday was related to that.

I work with a MA ANG F15 crew chief and he said it's a training TDY. It's also drill this coming weekend. I asked him about whether the EX or 35 would be picked and he said there are no updates but they are definitely in the running. As someone who goes to Barnes a lot, I would love to see the EX. I would imagine the MA ANG would not use the F35 for the alert mission as the F-15EX can get in the air in less than five minutes compared to the F35 which takes awhile.

Are there civilian C-17s?

Not that I know of - some are painted better than others (read QATAR C17). I think he was just clarifying it was a military aircraft for flight service call. Besides not too many civilian aircraft monitor 255.400 either. Probably just force of habit to identify military and type of aircraft. Will have to plug in 122.200 to see if they announce intentions on that frequency as well.

Are there civilian C-17s?

No. It's a specialised aircraft designed with military needs in mind. Not economic enough to use and despite excellent rough strip performance the actual requirement for it's payload in that field doesn't exist in the civil market. The idea of a civilian variant was proposed by MD but there was almost no interest. Boeing asked for expressions of interest but didn't get enough to justify the required work and subsequently dismantled the production line.

1657- Heard over the scanner a AH-1 Cobra just crashed near KWRI, or a hard landing. Reports are both pilots walked away. Its probably the Red Dogs since they were up earlier this afternoon.
1718- Hearing both pilots are ok. I'm looking at a photo....looks like a crash to me. Pilots were lucky.

MH53E 162504 (callsign HURRICANE17) Hex AE5D16 on KACY approach 124.600 requesting full stop landing on Runway 33

MH53 163054 Hex AE5D1C heading northbound - crossing right over Cape May County
The first MH-53 went right over my house about an hour ago at 600 ft after doing the Hudson River run. (very loud) He's going south now on the Delaware River. Both tracks originated out of Norfolk NAS.
1811- Looks like the 2nd one landed at ACY.

1659 - CORSAIR 31 and KINGFISH 11 cleared into Viper and cleared to switch to tactical frequencies.

On the RTB heard KINGFISH using 314.400 and CRAZY using 226.800, but never heard CORSAIR A-A on any of their other known (to me) TAC frequencies, 234.800, 261.800, 349.700. Is there another one I don't know about ? Did anyone catch CORSAIR on an other frequency ? Maybe using HaveQuick for the RTB ?
