Here's what I've logged the past three hours or so. Unfortunately, I can't seem to transfer my logging program to this forum and make it keep its basic form and spacing.

Mark, that IAF 001 was an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) B-707, tail 275. I heard him calling on 349.4 at 1216 with his arrival message at 25 minutes out.

Mark, any chance that could be BORA 12 - one of the many tankers that moved the Shaw F-16s over the weekend? One of McGuire's tankers (KC-10A, 87-0120) was flying just about that time.

0910: DRAGO 51 (KC-135R, 58-0075, 756th ARS Andrews) departs ADW but looks like the flyby will not be in this area - at least not at this time since he climbed to 17,000 feet...TRACON
I'm not hearing him working the usual flyby freqs - 124.0/279.575
0922: AVALON 65 (C-40C, 05-0932, 73rd AS Scott) off the deck at Andrews and climbing w/TRACON...118.95
0928-39: REACH 488 (C-17A, 88-0266, 437th AW Charleston) calling Andrews...several calls, no joy...378.1 (Arriving from Europe...last heard there in the UK at 0410Z...a slow mover...this was Charleston's first C-17A in its inventory...one of the first two in operational service...0265 went to McChord and 0266 to Charleston)
0931: German Air Force...GAF 206, A-310, tail 10+26...climbing out from Dulles I think.
0940: BRAVE 61 and 62 (F-16, DC-ANG, Andrews Alert Fighters) off the deck at ADW w/TRACON...348.725
0941-45: REACH 488 calling Andrews on VHF now...still no joy...141.55
0942: DC-ANG interflight active (not sure it's the BRAVE flight though)...143.6 (It's not...this is a WILD flight of two)
0943: BRAVE flight handed to ZDC-Calvert and check in climbing to 15,000...281.4
0943: BRAVE 61/62 flight working interflight/alert freq...139.7
0945: REACH 488 to Griffin Ops...reports 15 minutes out and has 5 vehicles and 18 pax to offload...need parking, Customs and Immigration...141.55 (Ground control loud and clear here)
0946: BRAVE 61/62 handed to Patuxent and try to check in...they do and cancel IFR...305.2
0947: BRAVE flight handed to BayWatch...270.8
0947: Griffin Ops now having problem making contact w/REACH 488...Ops trying to ask if they have seats available on the outbound...finally make contact and REACH 488 says he has 54 seats available...141.55
0947: BRAVE flight will use R-4006/4008 for the next 45 minutes...270.8
0948: BRAVE 61/62 setting up for some ACM practice at Pax...139.7
0951: WILD flight has been working Pax also...354.8
0955: OPEC 23 (KC-10A, 86-0030, 305th AMW McGuire) through the area...ZDC VHF
0958: RAVEN flight (A-10 MD-ANG MTN) w/Harrisburg A/D...273.525

1000: WILD 1 and 2 to SOF to report both Code 1...139.9
1007: WILD flight landing wADW Tower...both report, "base, gear, stop, 1-left"...349.0

And that's all folks...gotta run.

Thanks Dave. So he's in "The Duke" working MTN A-10s. Nice catch. Guess he's doing a little work before the scheduled flyby.

Looks like this snow storm caught allot of aircraft off guard. Have numerous birds at PAX trying to get out of the sky fast.
1352: 348.725 - WILD 1 Direct NOTTINGHAM
1354: 348.725 - WILD push 281.4 ZDC CALVERT
1354: 281.4 - WILD 1 up at 15,000. Washington CTR very slow responding to them but finally tells them to come up PAX ADVISORY 305.2.
1355: 305.2 - WILD looking for 6609 and South Spin Exclusive.
In the meantime on 281.4 WASH CTR is still trying to get WILD 1 because they never heard WILD 1 Confirm the switch to 305.2. WILD 1 did confirm before the switch. It sounds like WASH CTR is having problems with 281.4's Reception.
1359: 391.2 POKER 91 up GK.
1359: 249.1 BIKER up GK now as well.
1400: 346.6 POKER 1 & 2 Up GK
1407: PAX IS reporting VIS at 1/8 mile with HEAVY SNOW

Little bit of weather makes for an interesting return for PA A-10s this afternoon...

14:35 - UGLY flight is checking in with OPS (343.0, 141.8) wants to know about conditions at Willow Grove. Then wants to know about McGuire. 413.175 (PA Maintance) tells everyone planes will be landing either McGuire, Allentown, or here....have Crash recovery and De-Arm ready to go. Aircraft are tail numbers 78-0658 and 79-0219.
Few minutes later comes back that they will land at Middletown (Allentown).
14:48 - OPS and maintance - Line 1, code 1, Line 2, code 2 IFF, Winchester, 20 min out. Must be another flight, and it is..CADE.
14:54 - CADE 1 talking to OPS, first on uniform (343.0) then wants contact on victor (141.8)....would like to know conditions at Willow Grove, more specifically any water on the runway?
Also at this time OPS reports UGLY 2 is coming back to Willow Grove, UGLY 1 is safe on the ground (Middletown). Will try to get UGLY 1 back tonight.
15:09 - CADE flight does a 2 ship landing, with WG GCA 266.8...CADE 2 landing, CADE 1 back to tower, and swinging around for visual runway 33.

Guess there were a few pilots that got themselves in panic mode when the snow hit this afternoon although it came through and was over in a few minutes most places.

Had an E-6B, 164406, VQ-3 depart Patuxent around 1745. This one went to the east across Salisbury and then out over the Atlantic and turned southeast the last I heard from him. He climbed to FL 270. Once there, he called in to HUNTRESS on 364.2 for a modes and codes check reporting at FL270 to the west of CHAMP, squawking 1357. He used callsign FUMUS 85 Heavy. It's a good thing he spelled that callsign. Most of their callsigns can at least be found in the dictionary. I'm not sure where this one came from.

Heard a BLUE 38 calling in on 349.4 mid-1800 hour. Not sure if he wants Dover or McGuire. It's a KC-135R, 57-1468, 452nd ARW March. He must be staging for an upcoming mission.
1837: Also had DECEE 22 (KC-135R, 58-0075, 756th ARS AFRC Andrews) reporting he was airborne at 30 past the hour...378.1
1847: REACH 962 (C17A, 01-0190, 437th AW Charleston) to Andrews...15 minutes out, need crew transportation and have 8 pax...starts to give tail as 101 and then cuts out (she was going to say 10190)...also need parking...gets 13-Row...141.55
1847: BLUE 38 to McGuire (very weak)...319.4

1918: REACH 7040 (C-5B, 87-0040, 60th AMW Travis) somewhere in the area and starting a descent (probably into Dover)...ZDC VHF
1920: Coast Guard 102 (C-143A, 02, USCG DCA) descending for approach to DCA...TRACON
1922: Couple of KC-10A tankers chatting on tanker interplane primary...139.875 (Not sure who this is yet. Haven't had any indicatons of KC-10s in the area.)
1927: NAVY 300 (C-20D, 163692, VR-1) on approach to Andrews....w/TRACON...128.35
1930: REACH 7040 to Dover CP...30 minutes out for a quick turn...45.2 (K) cargo going through, 11 pax going through...A-2 for oil filter differential pressurization indicator...need maintenance on the ground and quick turn...349.4
1931: TEAM 01, flight of two for AR work in the block 180-200...w/ZDC-Salisbury...120.975
1934: Pair of KC-10s yakking on interplane...139.875 (Believe the two KC-10As are 83-0081 and 86-0027 from McGuire)
1937: KC-10s are TEAM 28 (83-0081) and TEAM 01 (86-0027) on interplane ready to begin their work...139.875
1941: U/I tanker on AR Primary...228.0 (AR-777 Primary)
1942: ROCCO 63 (KC-135E, 108th ARW PA-ANG McGuire) w/ZDC-Salisbury...120.975
1948: REACH 2098 (C-17A, 02-1098, 437th AW Charleston) w/ZDC-Salisbury...120.975
1954: REACH 2098 leaving FL 290 for 11,000...120.975
1959: REACH 2099 (C-17A, 02-1099, 437th AW Charleston) overhead at FL 310...ZDC VHF

2003: REACH 2098 calling Dover CP...349.4
2003: REACH 2099 w/ZDC-Salisbury and handed off to ZDC-Sea Isle 133.125...120.975
2003: BATON 55 (EC-130J, 01-1935, 193rd SOW PA-ANG Harrisburg) overhead the area at 14,000 feet...ZDC VHF (I think)
2006: REACH 363 (C-17A, 01-0192, 437th AW Charleston) to Andrews...ETA 30 minutes, A-1, have 11 pallets and 47 pax, need 15K upload fuel, Customs and Ag...parking in 13-A...378.1 (Arriving from Europe...last heard in the UK late 1800Z hour)
2010: REACH 0454 (C-5A, 70-0454, 155th AS TN-ANG Memphis) w/Atlantic City Approach descending for ?McGuire?...124.6

I'd say that's about enough. End of log.

Andrews (Griffin, et al) has been using the "repeater" or whatever it is they've been testing recently on the 141.55 Command Post freq all day today. This evening - now that it finally got somewhat quiet - I'm hearing ground controllers talking with aircraft on the ground at Andrews assigning parking spaces, etc. Good stuff if they'll keep it this way.

Portion of a TFR published for this weekend:
PURSUANT TO TITLE 14, SECTION 91.141OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS, AIRCRAFT FLIGHT OPERATIONS ARE PROHIBITED WITHIN A 30 NMR OF 392150N/0772401W OR THE MRB100020.9 UP TO BUT NOT INCLUDING FL180 EFFECTIVE 0801181755 UTC (1255 LOCAL 01/18/08) UNTIL 0801182010 UTC (1510 LOCAL 01/18/08). WITHIN A 10 NMR OF 392150N/0772401W OR THE MRB100020.9 UP TO BUT NOT INCLUDING FL180 EFFECTIVE 0801181755 UTC (1255 LOCAL 01/18/08) UNTIL 0801182010 UTC (1510 LOCAL 01/18/08).

Ref Below: Thanks JR. That info sure matches up with what I got from his flight info.

I pick a great time to take a shower.
17:08:34 135.2 - PAX CLNC DEL - "FUMUS 85. You are cleared to CHAMP, via the Salisbury 3 Departure, then as filed, after DEP fly RWY heading, maintain 3,000. Expect flt level 270 one zero minues after Dep. Dep freq is 121.0 or 250.3, Squawk 1357"

I think I am going to set the R-8500 up to just work the PAX C/D freqs. Bugs the heck outta me I can't copy the readbacks. Might catch the destination. I can hear them do the readback but to weak to copy well.

Middletown is Harrisburg/MDT - where the BATON EC-130s live. Is that where they diverted?

Otherwise, just a couple from a twilight (1700-1730) listening session at Gravelly Point (~1000' N of DCA)
1653: -118.4- SPAR 73 cleared to land ADW "the barriers are up?" [with alarm in his voice]
1703: -119.85- SUNNY 737 (C-12 seen) vectors in from the south to ADW. To 119.3/118.4.
1707: -119.85- ARMY 01052 (UC-35 00-1052 seen) vectors across ELDEE to ADW.

That's what OPPs said and only one UGLY of the flight came back here to Willow Grove, so I'm guessing yes, the other one is there or was there. I was listening off and on tonight, didn't hear him return, so I don't know if he did come back as they were planning (tonight) or if he's still there.

Nice stuff JR. It's great to have CD from a military base. Nothing can compare to it once they're in the air.

Had MAZDA 61/71 flights of 115th FW F-16s from the WI-ANG heading east and across the pond during the night. Apparently, they were flights of six each. Tankers were GOLD 01/02 with one flight and GOLD 11/12 with the other. The GOLD 01/11 tankers were no doubt KC-10A types but they were too far north from here to get IDs on or to hear any of the flight chat. However, GOLD 02 (59-1468) and GOLD 12 (59-1490) were both KC-135Rs from the 171st ARW at Pittsburgh. They met the flight soon after takeoff and accompanied them to the Atlantic and then returned to Pittsburgh. It was around 0430 and 0600 those two tankers started for home from the Cape Cod area. The MAZDA 61 flight was heard refueling as expected on Coronet K-1 freq 343.1.

Thanks, I just finished reconfiguring the R-8500. It's working nothing but CD from PAX now. I wanna get a better grip on VQ-4 Destinations when they depart. Knowing the destination might help clue me in as to the various departure corridors they might end up using.

Finally got the additional soundcards installed and tweaked so now have all but two radios recording. Gonna have to go with something external on those. I am outta PCI slots.

10:07 250.3 PAX is now asking BULLY 01 if he went Supersonic. BULLY 01 advises he is not sure but it was close.

1144 - 1146 ongoing -- NAVY 363 with Potomac on uhf guard, at 3700 feet near Frederick, up to 5000 feet - 243.0

Anybody else hear him yesterday? I'm curious as to what was going on. I hadn't heard him at all before he came up on uhf guard. Didn't sound like it was an emergency as all he was just giving his location and altitude with nothing to indicate any distress.

Interesting listening, isn't it Mark? Once you get used to the accents of the controllers, it's kind of fun listening to them. I have no records from the last day or two on any of those REACH flights and nothing for Delaware HUSKY flights leaving the area. That's what I normally do with the stuff I hear there - see what I can backtrack on from the European sites various logs. It doesn't turn up anything important but is just something different to do occasionally.

And, Brian, I have nothing in my logs for NAVY 363 so can't help with that one.
