BRAVE4 has a generator failure. On 143.15 advised he has no instrumentation. Will fly a TACAN approach. 4 will fly 3's wing due to low-visibility weather. 350.25

2224- Designated survivor and whoever else are preparing to depart. 241.0

2224- BRAVE3 talking to the SOF on 139.9
2226- Given a heading of 250 by Potomac as they're getting down. Getting harder to hear them, but I hear Potomac perfectly.
2227- Turn to final, cleared for 1R, 12 miles south. 4 will fly inbound and remain at 3000ft in order to burn off some gas.
2230- Switching to 335.5, Potomac still simulcasting on 350.25

I wonder how he is flying the approach without instruments? Maybe Brave 3 is helping?

2259 Brave 3 and Banker 01 on 228.9. Sounds like Brave 3 is back in the CAP - Brave 4 must be on the deck at Andrews.
2312 Brave 3 is burning off some fuel before RTB'ing to Andrews.
2338 JENA 147 with DCA tower on 134.35 heading south requesting frequency change to Davison. Prominent helicopter noise on transmission.
2340 JENA 145 with DCA tower on 134.35 heading south requesting frequency change to Davison.
2342 JENA 146 with DCA tower on 134.35 heading south requesting frequency change to Davison. (Wonder where all these guys were hanging out tonight?)

Thanks for the sticky Ron.

01/30/14 @ 0500 hrs.....heard COSMIC flights returning to ACY on 260.9 (F-16s out of Atlantic City) and ATC 282.3....This might have been the Super Bowl scheduled practice fly-over that was originally scheduled for 4:30 am Wednesday morning

+1 on Omaha the other night.
Wed night about 8, ANG working 143.6, Scary 1 and 2. one of the pilots was lecturing the other on staying in position ('I can't be holding your hand'). other pilot said something about no lights and reply was something like 'it's dark like this in some theaters'.

No surprises with this years super bowl CAP
260.9 was the CAP primary. Was referred to as "Yankee CAP". CBP OMAHA air assets also on here.
DEVILs A/A was 140.1 and 140.7 (am)
Was a quiet night. There were no TOI.

No one seemed to report any A/A for the helicopter fly-over during the national anthem except for an ATC frequency.

Hearing activity on 264.2.

I have that as one of the Marine helicopter squadrons out of McGuire. HMLA 773

Sounds like a close air support excersize.

Might be down at Warrem Grove practicing.

Talking about tree lines. A little hard to hear.

Strange night....fireball in the sky reported over NJ. AWACS over OH. Sonic booms reported over CA. Plus the Israeli's are bombing Syria. Can't help but wonder if it's all related.

Getting CAP type comms with COSMIC (ACY) but weak at my location on 260.90....Either training or CAP some where. Sounds more like ACM training.

There is a TFR in effect so I bet it is an active CAP. I wonder who the VIP is?
I am in work and cannot monitor :(

Comms were weak here. I Usually receive Yankee/NYC CAP aircraft solid here. So I'm thinking it was further out. I'm about 20 miles south of JFK near Sandy Hook, NJ. Also, 260.90 seems quiet now. Thanks for the info though.

Oh yes if you are that close and hearing them weak, then it must be training somewhere. I am about the same distance east of JFK and also hear them solid when the CAP is over there so I see what you are saying.
Yes I monitored from my car from 1200 to 1230 local and not a peep on any of the usual milair freqs.

Flights are using 238.1, 233.525, 236.55 (LYNX x3) and 292.3 (SWORD).
1704-Hearing DRAGNET AWACS on 236.55 also.
364.2 has some activity too, DRAGNET U.

1642- 250.7 is active. Sounds like some jets, I may have heard ROMAN as a callsign. It's a VX-23 Base freq.
